Whether you are a little artist or beginner, come along to the Camden LGA Children's Art Workshop to showcase your creative talents and personality. Designed with fun and creativity in mind, children will have an opportunity to express their ideas through art and learn new techniques from a local artist. Art pieces created by children will be exhibited at Narellan Library during the month of October.

The Queanbeyan Children's Week Market and Expo is a free event open to the whole community, with lots of information stalls, local small businesses and free fun activities for families. The aim of the Expo is to encourage families to access information in an informal setting.

We are displaying artworks created by children from across Queanbeyan in the local shopping centre, to promote the rights of children. Last year we turned these artworks into flags which will be displayed down the main street along with the artworks.

Event name: Free Children’s Week event- Cockatoo Island Adventures Family Fun Day

Date: Sunday 22 October

Join us for a special day of family fun amongst the spectacular shipyards of historic Cockatoo Island presented by the Australian National Maritime Museum!

Make creative crafts, dress up in costume and have your face painted as we salute to all things navy and nautical.  Spy up periscopes and take the hoop- helm in interactive circus performances. Enjoy swing dancing, storytelling and theatrical tours across the island. Join in spectacular bubble art making, marvel at steam crane demonstrations, take a harbour cruise on a historic vessel and much more. 

It’s a whole day of fun for the whole family.

Event name: Kids Festival & Mud Run

The Berrigan Shire will host a four day Children's Festival in partnership with Lions Clubs and family support services. The Festival program will be held 4pm to 6 pm in Shire reserves / parks in the townships of Barooga (20 October), Finley (25 October), Berrigan (24 October) and Tocumwal (26 October) Activities to be provided include: facepainting, games and our Annual Mud Run to be held this year at the Tocumwal Pony Club: Thursday 26 October 2017 at 4 pm. Local service Clubs - Lions  will be on hand to cook up a free sausage sizzle with the Rotary Club of Tocumwal and Smithers Orchards providing fresh orange juice on each day of the program.

To celebrate NSW Children’s Week with our members, NSW Family Day Care Association is giving away an all-inclusive Professional Development Training session for one service’s staff and educators. The prize is a Professional Development Training session that focuses on educators to benefit children. The winning service can choose from selection of PD sessions that focus directly on best outcomes for children.

Event name: NSW Children’s Week and NSW Grandparents Day Open Day

We want families to come and join in the learning experiences with the children in our Morning activities from 10am to 11.30am. We invite families to share stories and experiences with the children.

To further celebrate Grandparents Day we will have discussions with the children about what grandparents mean to them. We invite our visitors to bring in or email us photographs of grandparents that promote the talent and experience of older people. In addition we are asking the children to paint and draw someone that is special such as a grandparent and we will Display their artwork in our foyer areas to celebrate children’s strengths, successes and links to the community.
