Description: Lake Macquarie City Council are offering a range of activities that children can participate in during Children's Week. On offer will be:
• 3 x Storywalks – Toronto Foreshore, Speers Point Promenade and Pasterfield play area – each will have a different children's story shared on the footpath (using footpath stickers). Each story is written by a local author. The idea is to encourage families and children to visit these places, read the story as they walk along the footpath
• Mindfulness boards – At various locations a mindfulness board will be installed that encourages children to do some mindfulness. Locations are Webb Park Redhead, Wangi Wangi foreshore and Swansea near Granny’s beach
• Glenrock cultural walk – A PDF flyer which families can download and use for a walk in Glenrock to learn about cultural aspects of area. The flyer will have pictures of the walk and then a description/fact/suggested activity to go with each picture.
• Sharing of the “Great Outdoors” resource w to encourage children and families to get out and explore the natural spaces in Lake Mac
