Celebrating With A Focus
Children's Week is celebrated with a theme based on an Article from the United Nations Convention on the Rights of the Child (UNCRC). Every two years a new theme is chosen.
2022/23 - Article 27
The Children’s Week National Theme for 2022 is UNCRC Article 27.
"All children have the right to an adequate standard of living including house, food and clothes that support their development.".
.Article 27 identifies children's development being inclusive of their physical, mental, spiritual, moral and social development.
This means we need to ensure in providing children with an adequate standard of living all these areas of development are included..
Children’s Week is observed annually in the fourth week of October to mark Australia’s ratification of the United Nations Convention of the Rights of the Child (UNCRC).
