NSW Children’s Week opens with a family picnic in the glorious Botanic Gardens.
To mark the launch of NSW Children’s Week on Sunday October 21, the NSW Children’s Week Association in collaboration with the Royal Botanic Garden is hosting the 2nd annual NSW Children’s Week Family Picnic.
The theme for Children’s Week this year is Article 12 of The United Nations Convention on the Rights of the Child: 'Children's views and opinions are respected. They have the right to express those views freely in all matters affecting the child and the right to be heard'.
The free event from 10.30am till 2pm will include a range of activities including storytelling, roving entertainers, seed planting and a mud kitchen. Families will also be able to participate in the fun nature trail experience to discover some of the delights of the garden for children.
Families and friends are invited to put on their play clothes, pack a picnic lunch and bring their children for a relaxing day of fun, play and celebration.
The picnic will be an opportunity for all people to come together to acknowledge and celebrate our children.
Bookings for this FREE event open on Monday 24 September.
